Rising Generation Africa ("RGA", "we", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through risinggenerationafrica.co.ke, how we use it and the choices you have. It is written for compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 and applicable regional standards.
1. Information We Collect
- Registration data — name, email, phone, county, gender, date of birth, profession, photo (for members and applicants).
- Account data — email, encrypted password or Google account identifier when you sign in.
- Payment references — the M-Pesa transaction code you enter. We do not store card or bank credentials.
- Technical data — IP address, device, browser, pages viewed, referring URL, and cookies for security and analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To process membership and program applications.
- To verify payments and issue Member IDs.
- To send event, program and community updates you have subscribed to.
- To operate, secure and improve the website and our services.
- To comply with lawful requests and obligations.
3. Legal Basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent (when you register or subscribe), the performance of a contract (membership services), our legitimate interests (site security, service improvement), and legal obligations.
4. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share limited data with: hosting and database processors (Lovable Cloud / Supabase), authentication providers (Google), and email delivery providers, all under written data-processing terms. Aggregated, non-identifying data may be shared with partners.
5. Retention
Member and applicant records are kept for as long as your membership is active and up to seven years after termination for legal and audit purposes. Common-pool sign-ups may be retained until you unsubscribe.
6. Your Rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing of your personal data. Email risinggenerationafrica@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
Data is stored in encrypted, access-controlled databases. Row-level security policies restrict access to authorised administrators only. Passwords are hashed. Traffic is served over HTTPS.
8. Children
Our services are intended for individuals aged 18 and above. Anyone under 18 must have parental or guardian consent.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, where appropriate, communicated by email.
